Mariners Manager Goes Off On Terrible Season

Ah the classic mid-season blow up by a baseball manager. We can now add John McLaren to the long list of professional and college coaches who have gone on camera after a game and go nutz about how bad their team is.

McLaren and his staff came into work Wednesday and find out they had a meeting with the President of Operations Chuck Armstrong and General manager Bill Bavasi. Rumor has it this meeting was a closed door affair that basically had the coaches getting yelled at for their terrible play.

So then the team goes out to try to beat the Angels and prevent a series sweep but fail to win and lose the game 4-5 and also fail to prevent the sweep.

Left fielder Raul Ibanez said he's more frustrated and embarrassed than at any point in his career.Relief pitcher Arthur Rhodes paced the clubhouse with a scowl and some angry words, then kicked a trash can and threw a couple of shoes

General manager Bill Bavasi, who called out the team less than two weeks ago for poor play and a lack of clubhouse leadership, ordered the players to be at their lockers when reporters were allowed into the clubhouse after the game.Bavasi also shut down the postgame meal and made other areas of the clubhouse, where many players often have avoided the media after games, off-limits.

Now while all of this is going on McLaren goes out to the press and does this....ENJOY...

Whoof, talk about a lashing if you ask me. Sounds like the entire M's team and front office has just had a bad day and needs a little pick me up.

Here guys, this might help if you watch and listen to this,
