Natalie Coughlin came into the Olympic Swimming Trials with the world record for the 100 meter backstroke Tuesday morning.
She quickly lost that record when Hayley McGregory broke that record earlier today with a record swim of 59.15 seconds in a heat before Coughlin. So what did Coughlin do? She got her record back!
Natalie Coughlin reclaimed her property with a time of 59.03 in the very next heat!
"I really didn't want her to have it for very long," Coughlin told reporters at the Qwest Center.
