UW Defenisve Star Breaks Bone Arm Wrestling

E.J. Savannah a Junior LB for the Washington Huskies who is the leading tackler from last year's team and star defensive player this year has broke a bone in his arm this past weekend. Inside sources have said it happened in an Arm Wrestling Match.

A source said Savannah suffered the injury while arm-wrestling, though the team said officially that he was injured in a non-football-related incident. Savannah broke his humerus, the long bone that runs from the shoulder to the elbow.

Now this is sorta Duck related as back in 2004 when the Ducks were recruiting Jonathan Stewart out of Lacey, WA the Ducks were also recruiting Savannah out of Bellevue, WA. Both players were ranked similar overall for the RB spot and after Stewart committed to Oregon Savannah mysteriously climbed the charts ahead of Stewart.

Husky fans immediately took advantage of this situation and started blasting they got the better back of the two. Savannah hasn't seen anything close to the success as Stewart has and has had numerous problems to getting onto the field.

2005: Missed season with neck stingers (pinched nerves).

2006: Missed three games with broken hand.

2007: Lost starting spot in fall camp with academic issue.

April 2008: Moved out of two-deeps in spring for missing offseason workouts.

June 2008: May miss first two games with broken arm.

So kids if some big dude challenges you to an Arm Wrestling match be the smarter person and back off because clearly this is a sign that they aren't the smartest idea in the world.

Stay tuned for more updates as I am looking for video and pictures of the famous event!

You are thinking of J.R. Hasty, not Savannah.

JR Hasty is who you are thinking of, and he never surpassed Stewart in any rankings as far as I can remember. Hasty was a four star ranked around 25th or something. I think Savanagh was in the teens as far as LB rankings.
That's ok, I get my facts mixed up all the time, and i'm only semi retarded.
go ducks!

What seems very odd about this incident is that he broke his *humerus* the big upper arm bone. How that is done while arm wrestling is beyond me.

Also, it was his *left* arm, which is peculiar in that he is right handed, and would certainly be arm wrestling with his other arm.

Is there any real evidence of the incident happening as it is being reported?
